Our recommendation is to use two separate AQUACLEAN 900 debonding baths. The first will debond and remove virtually all of the AQUABOND adhesive. Although it is possible to debond using only a single solution, the second bath insures totally clean parts. In addition, should the first bath become “spent” and not be immediately changed, the second bath will eliminate any material not removed during the first.
AQUACLEAN 900 is a milky solution when prepared. When it becomes clear during use, it is no longer effective and should be replaced. The table below will aid you in the preparation of the AQUACLEAN 900 solution.
There is no advantage to using greater than 2% of the AQUACLEAN 900 for debonding. Higher concentrations generally will not speed debonding or cleaning. The use of hot water (~85C) is important, especially with the AQUABOND 85 and 'G85 products.
Attaining the recommended AQUACLEAN 900 bath temperature. Some ultrasonic units cannot generate a bath temperature of 85C. If this is a problem, heat the AQUACLEAN 900 solution to the recommended temperature in a separate beaker. Then, place the beaker with parts into the ultrasonic chamber with its water at the highest temperature available. This will insure an extended period of time with proper bath temperature.
