Diamond Blade Bond Tail
This is also sometimes referred to as a comet tail. This “tail” is actually a section of the bond that has been protected by the Super Abrasive particle in grinding. This “tail” helps support the abrasive particle in the bond matrix. As the abrasive wears, so does this tail, until the particle is no longer adequately supported and thus dislodges, revealing a new abrasive particle to replace it. Bond tails are readily apparent in a well-conceived and executed cutting/grinding process.
